Overview & Reviews
The 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5.3-liter V8 receives tweaks that yield incrementally better fuel economy, including a standard six-speed transmission and variable valve timing (the 6.2-liter V8 also receives the former, and the 4.8-liter V8 the latter). All V8s can now run on E85 as well as gasoline. Side curtain airbags, front-seat side airbags and stability control are standard on all models, and all stereos except the base unit offer USB connectivity. Finally, the 6.0-liter V8 has been dropped.
- Smooth and quiet ride, agreeable seats, powerful optional V8s, comprehensive standard safety equipment.
- Large turning circle, bland base interior design, mediocre cabin storage.

Purchased april 4 2010, intial review - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By JeffD - October 27 - 3:50 amI bought a Silverado LT ext cab, 5.3 L v8, 6 sp auto. interior plus, ext plus, Texas edition package. Interior color is a ivory off white kinda of color. With the dash being black it gives it a two tone effect that I like. The 5.3l engine with the tow package allows me to tow any thing i would want. Once I am on the highway and cruising the engine mgt takes over and it gets any where from 24-30 mpg. There is no engine lurch or noise when this happens, Only way you know is via the info display. Even at hwy speeds the interior is fairly quite. I look forward to my first long trip. Chevy has a great truck here. With 5k in down payment assitance, GM financing beat my Cu rate.

Amazing Truck - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Abel - June 19 - 1:23 amBest truck to buy. If you are looking for a big truck comfort and looks dont look anywhere else this is what you need. I bought mine with a z71 4x4 package and there is nothing I can complain about. I have got everything I wanted and of course the mpg is amazing for this big truck

Awesome! - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By floyds - January 4 - 10:30 amThis truck meets a happy medium. We needed a truck to tow our camper but I still wanted to travel in comfort. This is that and more. I love the USB port for my Ipod. We got leather seats since we are using it mainly to camp, go to races and baseball games. I love the dual control A/C. My husband always freezes me. This solves that problem. I love the DIC. I love watching the fuel management kick in to V4. I know Im saving money. We have about 500 miles on it so far. The fuel mileage started out low but since it has started to get broken in, I got 20.5 on my way to work. That is right on target with what it states it will get. Very comfortable ride/drive. Had to get step boards to climb in.

Wow - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By PT - January 1 - 4:00 amYou owe it to yourself and your country to test drive this truck. It drives better than many cars with the obvious utility of a 1/2 ton full sized pickup. Technology which is second to none. 5.3 liter is powerful and fuel efficient if you can keep your foot out of it but after 20 years with 4 cylinder Toyotas good luck with that. 6 speed auto with manual controls. Onstar works great. Bottom line is if you want a vehicle that feels like a luxury car but can tow and haul all day long without tiring, you need to buy this truck. Oh yeah, youll get alot of compliments on its understated good looks.

A Home Run - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By cforider - June 15 - 2:48 pmI got lucky a month ago and found a 10,000 mile used 2010 black Silverado LTZ with every option at less than market price. My 1998 4Runner was still running good, but not enough guts to pull my boat. This is the truck ive always wanted and couldnt be more happy with all of the features. The 4Runner consistently (without boat) got 18 mpg, now I get 15-18 for the tank. The ride is awesome, the heated seats are the envy of my wife, and the look is the best on the market in my opinion. Yes, Id do it again. Have not pulled the boat yet, but have no doubt it will do just fine. I plan on keeping this one around for a while. Ive owned Fords before, but probably not again after this one.

Pleasantly surprised - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Big G - January 9 - 3:06 pmHave to admit I wasnt looking for a truck when I got to the lot, i was looking for an SUV. But once i saw the Silverado with the upgraded chrome wheels and appearance package I had to take a look. Once I drove it I was sold. I constantly get compliments on my truck and it consistently surprises me on how refined and smooth it is on the road. I have had ZERO quality issues and get over 19 mpg on the highway with my heavy foot. Dealer treats me like they want my business too. Get the upgraded 5.3 engine and the 6 speed transmission. It makes a HUGE difference.

Great Initial Ownership Experience - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Shrike - December 16 - 1:00 pmGreat handling, comfortable seating, good fit-and-finish. Fuel economy is average, but engine/transmission performance is excellent, ride comfort is very good (even with no load). Positioning of controls is perfect. Got this vehicle to replace my 2005 Lacrosse CXL (used for clients - an excellent car) and my Ford F-150 work truck. Excellent compromise between the two vehicles.

V6 Truck, no way. - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Mark - September 29 - 5:53 pmV6 and 4 speed auto are a very good match up and smooth performance. Towing up 6500 pounds is smooth and straight. This work truck platform is matched very well with the V6 and is a quick and responsive drive on the expressway. Granted it is not as quick as a V8, it does cruise easily at 75 to 80 on the E-way with no issues. Cruise control is an appreciated option on those 400 mile trips from Detroit to Illinois. This is an excellent basic truck, just what I prefer. Chrome package adds to the clean style and lines.

I got a sweet deal - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Jr - September 29 - 12:33 pmOk looked around at the 1500 Silverado all had 5.3 liters which are great. Then I looked online at a dealership a few miles away from my house and they had a 2010 1500 Silverado with a 6.2 liter engine at I think 403 hp rear view camera, and remote start, manual shift for towing up step grades, trailer brake control system, power back window, back up sensors and much more. I got this truck for the price of the regular 1500 lt price. Its made like an ltz but with a killer deal I love it baby.

Super Silverado! - 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
By Lung doc - February 18 - 12:46 pmTraded in my 03 Honda Pilot. Great vehicle but wanted more capability for hunting, fishing, outdoor stuff. Considered F150. Test drove my LT Z71 and was hooked. Comfortable ride on road and great so far doing some light off-road (I plan to challenge it more later). Powerful engine with great low end torque and high end horsepower. At 80 mph only 2,000 RPM. Rated for 21 MPG on highway which is actually higher than my Pilot. So far I am averaging 17 MPG in mixed driving. I anticipate this will improve some with time.
